The NAIC is excited to open applications for our Leaders of Tomorrow Summer Internship Program. This is a comprehensive internship program working hybrid out of our Kansas City office providing a glimpse into the multifaceted field of insurance regulation.
Founded in 1871, the NAIC supports state insurance commissioners and their departments in their efforts to regulate the insurance industry and protect consumers. With a team of 600 dedicated employees, we provide expertise in insurance policy and regulation, data and technology, financial regulatory support, and many other resources to insurance commissioners and their departments.
We are looking for enthusiastic rising juniors and seniors interested in careers in insurance regulation, risk management, actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, data science, pre-law, public policy, accounting, finance, project management, human resources, or related fields to join our immersive summer internship program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on meaningful special projects with leaders and subject matter experts
Gain first-hand experience in the insurance regulation industry
Conduct research and analysis
Gather data and information to support decision-making processes.
Summarize findings and present them to the team.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
Attend regular team meetings to stay informed about ongoing projects.
Share insights and suggestions to enhance project outcomes.
Complete assigned tasks within deadlines
Manage time effectively to ensure timely completion of projects.
Seek guidance when needed and communicate progress regularly.
Collaborate with team members to achieve goals and deliverables.
Network with a variety of NAIC departments to connect with colleagues
Advance your professional skills and grow technical knowledge
Attend NAIC employee events
Education and/or Experience required:
Rising Juniors and Seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in insurance regulation, risk management, actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, data science, pre-law, public policy, accounting, finance, project management, human resources or a similar degree from an accredited college or university.

Internship Program Details:
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, up to three days in the Kansas City office
Hours: Monday - Friday, up to 37.5 hours per week
Summer Internship Dates: 6/2/2025-8/8/2025
Compensation: $24/hour
