About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Grassroots Program Manager to join our team in Mississippi. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in growing and maintaining a grassroots group of volunteers focused on coastal bird conservation.
Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and overseeing volunteers for a growing coastal bird stewardship program, managing volunteer applications, and developing relationships with local underrepresented communities. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, experience working with volunteers, and knowledge of Gulf Coast conservation issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and train volunteers for a growing coastal bird stewardship program
- Manage volunteer applications, training, and orientation
- Develop relationships with local underrepresented communities
- Expand the volunteer program by recruiting new volunteers and cultivating relationships with current volunteers
- Perform outreach and education at festivals, schools, markets, and other local events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of professional experience in outreach, education, or a related field
- Experience working with volunteers and developing relationships with diverse groups
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Gulf Coast conservation issues
