What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regulatory Affairs Attorney (Environment & Safety) position at National Automobile Dealers Association?
Responsibilities
- Lead advocacy efforts for NADA and ATD members on environmental, emissions, and safety issues at the federal level.
- Analyze rules and regulations from agencies like the EPA, DOT, NHTSA, CARB, and FMCSA to protect dealership interests.
- Educate members and state associations on regulatory changes and compliance.
- Serve as subject-matter expert on environmental, health, and safety laws impacting automobile and truck dealers.
- Manage NADA’s relationship with federal agencies to advocate for the industry.
- Prepare written comments, testimony, and communications for federal agencies on regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with the Legislative Office on policy matters and draft testimony for congressional hearings.
- Build and maintain relationships with auto manufacturers, industry reps, and legal professionals.
- Oversee litigation efforts and manage outside attorneys on regulatory issues.
- Conduct research and support educational outreach programs to maintain industry expertise and compliance.
