Punch Press Machine Operator

National Band & Tag Co. is an American manufacturer of identification products ranging from dog license tags to sea turtle tags and beyond. We manufacture each product to order, and are known for our quality, custom stamping and sequential numbering. You may have seen our products on your pets collars, telephone poles, animals at the zoo or even a portapotty!

A Machine Operator at NB&T is the person running a Punch Press and making parts. You'll read customer order sheets, work with the Set Up team and Supervisors to get the job ready to run, and operate a punch press to create tags. It helps to have some mechanical knowledge, but we provide on the job training for all new employees. We have many people that have come from food service, retail or other job areas looking for a career switch up who have found that they love having a steady job without any customer interaction.

The Machine Operator position works with a variety of different punch presses, loading material and running orders per customer specifications. Our best Operators have great attention to detail and good reading and math skills as our commitment to quality and sequential numbering is what we are known for.

Responsibilities:

• Read order sheets to understand what the customer is wanting
• Run parts making sure productivity goals are met or exceeded each day
• Move, retrieve and load material by hand
• Monitor quality checks, do first part approvals
• Work to minimize scrap when running orders
• Assist with inventory control of finished product
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all safety rules and regulations
• Work on a team with all other production staff
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Mechanically inclined preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, bend, stoop, sit and stand
• Good hand/finger/palm coordination required

This position offers:

• Full time work Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
• Optional overtime during fall busy season (based on seniority and/or need)

Salary: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour dependent on experience and skillset

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
