Overview
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented AV/IT Technician to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of tech systems.
Position Type
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position that will work in-person at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. The salary range for this position is $25-29 per hour. Benefits associated with this position include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, medical/dental FSA, retirement, and paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays).
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Education/Experience:
Projectors, speakers, mixing consoles, microphones, digital signal processors, media players, desktops, laptops, cell phones, tablets, TVs, printers, copiers.
Typical Physical Demands
Must be able to move 50 pounds with or without accommodations and perform repetitive actions over time. Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain show control, audio, video, and lighting systems in exhibition galleries and event spaces.
- Detect, define, and troubleshoot AV system issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the installation of AV systems for new museum exhibits.
- Support hybrid video conference meetings.
- Act as primary point of contact for AV vendors and integrators.
- Work with events team to fulfill all event AV and IT requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, and mobile device issues, including operating system and application problems.
- Conduct routine system maintenance, such as updates, backups, and malware scans.
- Escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Assist IT team as needed.
Education/Experience:
- CTS certification or equivalent work experience. Candidate must earn a CTS certification within the first year of employment.
- One to three years of experience working in the AV field. Previous live event and IT experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of amplification and loudspeaker equipment, audio mixing, digital signal processing, and recording.
- Working knowledge of show control and lighting systems.
- Working knowledge of video recording, switching, playback, and distributing equipment.
- Working knowledge of digital signage hardware and software.
- Working knowledge of projection and video equipment.
- Working knowledge of low voltage electrical concepts.
- Ability to read and follow AV systems flow diagrams and support documentation.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac OSX, Microsoft Office.
- Software and hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to plan projects, work to timelines, and provide regular project status and updates.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects while interacting with different functional teams.
- Familiarity with products from the following brands is a plus: Christie, Dolby, Crestron, Philips Lighting, Shure, BrightSign, and ELO.
