Quality Control Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control within the manufacturing process. This role ensures that products meet or exceed company regulatory standards while continuing improvements of quality and sanitation. Responsible for quality of raw and finished products, sanitation and syrup operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP, and other relevant regulatory standards.
Oversee internal and external audits and address non-conformances.
Manage and mentor the quality assurance team, including lab technicians’ sanitation and syrup operators.
Review Production Batch Records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Microbial, Wastewater, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
Conduct CAPA reports for quality-related issues (Microbiological and customer complaints.)
Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
Lead all safety, internal and external audits.
Monitor wastewater systems using pH, BOD, and TSS but not limited too.
Verify and record daily syrup yields.
Familiarize with HMI programming and understand how to use KHS Promix.
Monitor raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure consistency and quality. Receive in ingredients
Verify syrup operators have properly rotated stock of ingredients FIFO
Conduct root cause analyses for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Develop and maintain product specifications and testing protocols.
Work closely with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
Communicate quality performance metrics and updates to senior management.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency including syrup yields and product loss.
Report any deviations with raw materials to suppliers for quality products.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
Bachelor Degree of Science preferred in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology
At least 2 years of work experience as quality assurance auditor/technician and at least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
A good knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices
Ability to work under pressure (in an extremely fast paced environment), meet deadlines (overtime work may be required) and make effective decisions.
Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications) and computer-based applications).
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to details.
Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Must be able to effectively communicate ideas (verbally and in writing), be a self-starter and handle difficult reporting situations.
