The Team :
Commodity Insights seeks a US government-fluent reporter to lead coverage of tariffs, executive branch policy, and Congressional politics and policy as it pertains to the metals and mining industry. This is a hot news beat, and Commodity Insights is looking for a Washington, DC based reporter who can hit the ground running. This position will also have some responsibility for steel and other metals, so knowledge of commodity markets or mining is a plus. There will be developmental opportunities associated with being a member of a strong news team.
Responsibilities and Impact :
- Writes spot, in-depth news and analysis pieces on key developments in US policy and Americas metals markets.
- Serves as the Commodity Insights News go-to person for US government and policy news as relates to metals and mining.
- Works with Commodity Insights Market Reporters and Analytics team to enhance stories with proprietary data.
- Liaises with production team to produce graphics to enhance news and analysis pieces.
- Attends conferences and company meetings to learn about important issues.
Compensation / Benefits Information : (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
