About the Role
As the Director of Development, you will play a key role in advancing our mission by expanding and sustaining a strong individual donor pipeline. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this leadership position is responsible for managing mid-level donors ($1,000-$4,999 annually), overseeing annual donor portfolios, and leading non-pharma and foundational grants, corporate giving, and support event-based fundraising initiatives. This includes endurance events, third-party fundraising events, and other opportunities to drive revenue growth. The Director of Development will cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, develop innovative fundraising strategies, and lead initiatives that maximize philanthropic contributions. Additionally, this role may involve supervising staff members responsible for fundraising through events and peer-to-peer programs.

Key Responsibilities
Donor Strategy & Fundraising
- Manage and grow NBDF’s mid-level and annual donor portfolio, ensuring meaningful engagement and long-term investment.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term fundraising strategies, including donor cultivation, retention, and stewardship.
- Oversee corporate, foundation, and non-pharma grant fundraising efforts to diversify revenue streams.
- Create compelling solicitation materials, donor recognition pieces, and impact reports.
- Develop budgets for development initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial goals.

Where You Will Work
This position is a remote and open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S. Applicants should be comfortable working remotely with a team dispersed across the country. This role requires some travel, typically 5-8 trips annually, which includes overnight, weekends, and to our annual Bleeding Disorders Conference.
