Summary
As a Procurement Assistant, you will provide support to multiple Procurement Managers and procurement responsibilities for multiple projects across the Nation. This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Procurement Manager for National Building Specialties. The individual must be self-directed, work with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems and collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of the business unit.
Locations and Schedule
The role of the Procurement Assistant requires the ability and flexibility to flow-to-work as needed. It is anticipated that time will be spent in the National Building Specialties office location in Riverside, CA.
Responsibilities
Sourcing – researching potential suppliers, obtaining price quotes, and tracking quote requests to completion.
- Ordering – creating, processing and tracking material purchase orders through delivery.
- Administrative support – scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars and assisting with correspondence.
- Communication with project teams / customers regarding lead times, delivery coordination and the like.
- Supplier coordination for material ship dates, delivery dates to site, and timely invoicing.
- Maintain procurement logs for accuracy and updating in coordination with Procurement Manager.
- Assist with the production and submission of material data submittals for approval by customer.
- Work with internal customers to identify and address unmet needs that align with procurement and business unit goals to deliver long term value.
- Demonstrate high level of customer focus and sense of urgency.
- Use strong verbal and written communication skills to solve problems and provide status updates to customers and suppliers (e.g., commitment dates).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of two years' experience in materials purchasing; construction related preferred.
Excellent computer and analytical abilities, with proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets), and Outlook (email and calendar).
Experience in using an ERP software is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills

Ability to learn new skills with attention to detail.
