Part-Time Electrician, Mechanic, or Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for part-time electricians, mechanics and technical professionals to join our team as calibration repair technicians or scientists. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating physical / dimensional and laboratory standards. You will also be responsible for operating under close supervision, learning and performing pressure calibrations, electrical calibrations, and / or temperature calibrations.

Schedule Flexibility and Preference :

We are seeking candidates who are flexible with their schedules and can work irregular, part-time hours. Afternoon shifts are preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn and competently perform torque, pressure, electrical, physical / dimensional, and / or temperature calibration and repair using developed procedures and practices

Operate under supervision and achieve technical guidance, as required, from supervisor, quality manager, or higher-level technician

Capture test readings using automated programs or through the use of established data collection templates

Cleaning and maintenance of lab standards, equipment, and lab work areas

Customer Service Representative interaction

Effectively communicate with other employees in all departments

Perform other duties as requested by the calibration lab manager or lead with training

Physical Requirements

Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

Frequently lift or move heavy instruments, up to 50 pounds, short distances

Able to maintain concentration & focus while performing calibration

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

Ability to use math to solve problems and analyze data

Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge, Excel Skills are a bonus

Mechanical and / or electrical aptitude / experience required

Mechanical and / or electrical technical degree a plus

Clean driving record for 3 years

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Good organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

Math skills equal to Algebra I or better

Capable of interpreting technical documents and instructions

Understanding electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, or thermal principles, which you will learn to apply to metrology practices
