Float Residential Specialist (Substance Abuse)

Description

National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a substance abuse treatment facility in Arlington, VA is currently seeking a full-time Residential Specialist to join our Adult Men's Program. Responsibilities include monitoring the therapeutic milieu and client activities, responding to client’s crises and emergencies as needed. This position requires the individual to possess good boundary guidelines within the scope and setting of the therapeutic interaction. This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education. This position is part-time working weekends (every other Saturday and Sunday 11pm-7:30am). 

Pay: $20-$25 an hour- with an opportunity to earn more based on degrees, years of experience, and any other relevant qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) required

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of addiction treatment and of 12 Step recovery process preferred
• Certified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Management a plus
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
