Description
National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a substance abuse treatment facility in Arlington, VA is currently seeking full-time Residential Specialists to join our Coed Adult Residential Program. This is a 24 bed program for our Transitional Living Program. Responsibilities include monitoring the therapeutic milieu and activities, responding to patient crises and emergencies as needed. This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education.
We have multiple shifts available:
1. Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
2. Monday-Friday 4pm-12am
3. Monday-Friday 12am-8am
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) required within 6 months of employment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of addiction treatment and of 12 Step recovery process preferred
- Certified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Management a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
