Overview: National Design Mart, National Carpet Mill Outlet and National Granite Luxuries Customer Service Associates are the first point contact for our company and must provide exceptional customer service. This is accomplished by welcoming customers and vendors positively, assisting with and directing customers to the appropriate salesman, maintain employee and department directories while focusing on administrative duties. A strong belief in the company’s vision and the ability to execute its core values are necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience in a customer service environment.
Professional attitude and appearance.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to participate effectively as a team member.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
Meets and greets customers; answers phones and directs customers/vendors to appropriate persons; provides customers with literature and information; sign out samples; follows up on sample sign out sheets; handles complaints and returns; receive and process payments; file documents; maintain customer/salesman ratio; provides exceptional customer service.
Identifies personal and staff growth needs and improvement opportunities; seeks to obtain product information; learns and assists others in learning about National Design Mart products; communicates with others.
Procedures Followed: Phone; dress code; RFMS; stocking; merchandising; money handling; credit; refund; filing; opening/closing; calling off; theft control; and others as needed or defined by management.
Physical Aspects
Standing and/or walking for up to 4 hours consistently.
Lifting up to 25 lbs.
Stooping and bending at the waist to stock/front shelves daily.
Pushing and pulling items of various weights and sizes multiple times daily.
Working in a retail store environment.
Equipment Used
Using and operating a multiline phone system.
Completes sales transactions using a computerized cash register system (RFMS).
Performs numerical computations using an adding machine and/or calculator.
Knows the functions of and uses a variety of industry related tools.
