Chemistry Internship Primary Duties
- Maintain and use laboratory equipment to test materials and finished goods to ensure it falls within quality standards of the business unit. Including viscometers, pH meters, titrations, refractometers, and balances
- Audit the work of production employees to ensure that they are following mixing specifications
- Inspect incoming raw materials when required to assure it meets company requirements
- Aid manufacturing personnel regarding quality problems. This may include working with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service, or other involved departments
- Inspect all finished products prior to shipment to ensure compliance to company specifications and procedures
- Maintain records related to all aspects of quality operations
- Authoring and management of safety data sheets (SDS)
- Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
- Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time
- In progress bachelor’s degree in science related field
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record
- Comply with company rules, policies, and decisions
- Perform the responsibilities of the position at a satisfactory level of efficiency
- Required to regularly use a Personal Computer (P.C.)
- Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed
- Ability to lift weight up to 75 lbs.
- May stand for prolonged periods of time
- May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull, or do fine manipulations
