Job Description

SUMMARY

The Manager, Research Reporting and Science Outreach will track and report technical/scientific research program outcomes, identify outlets for research results, and collaborate across research programs to identify opportunities to expand the reach of checkoff research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform.

Research

  • Track research measurable objective progress and outcomes monthly and quarterly.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and maintaining research project and program documentation.
  • Monitor research outcomes and update internal trackers accordingly.
  • Assist in shepherding contracts through the approval processes by coordinating and tracking associated documentation through each stage, ensuring timely submissions and adherence to requirements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards of performance metrics for each research area.
  • Conduct data analysis and create visualizations or charts to support reporting.
  • Track project timelines to ensure milestones are met according to schedule.
  • Collaborate across research teams to ensure accurate data entry and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Support program managers in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting key outcomes.
  • Assist program managers with event executions and logistics.
  • Learn and become proficient in web posting using the SPUR platform to update beefresearch.org.

Communication/Dissemination

  • Draft project executive summaries based on final research reports for posting on beefresearch.org.
  • In collaboration with program staff, translate research outcomes into lay summaries for stakeholders.
  • Aid in presentation development by pulling data from reporting systems and compiling insights.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - A degree in Animal Science, Agriculture Communication or a related area is desired.
  • EXPERIENCEExperience in the food and/or agricultural industry preferred. Experience translating science to an educated audience is desired.
  • EQUIVALENCY - None
  • CERTIFICATION(S)None
  • SKILLS - Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to organize information, multi-task, successfully working with team members with different personalities and work styles, and time management skills are critical for this role. Successful applicants must be self-starters, display initiative, be motivated to achieve and thrive on conducting high-quality work. Proficiency in Excel for dashboard generation is desired. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and website platforms is expected.
