About the Role
An excellent entry-level internship position with NCDMM working on-site at our customer’s facility Center Street Technologies. As an intern, you be presented with an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to our additive manufacturing machines and systems through the integration of machine learning and other automation methodologies. We are seeking a motivated individual with good communication skills.
Responsibilities of the role include
Working on challenging problems and designing solutions
Enhancing data collection procedures and interpretation of large data sets to develop data-driven solutions
Supporting implementation, testing automation, and integration of machine learning models.
Writing and editing code using languages such as HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and C
Creating models to solve operational problems and developing troubleshooting tools such as equipment malfunction detection, and equipment proactive maintenance.
Requirements:
Interest in automation and mechanical aptitude
Some exposure to or proficiency with statistical software packages (SPSS Modeler, R, WEKA, or equivalent)
Some exposure to or proficiency with programming languages including R, Python, Scala, and Java.
Competency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
A Plus for experience in: SQL programming, data mining, analysis, pattern recognition and extraction, visualization tools and techniques
You are self-directed and have demonstrated the ability to prioritize deliverables and drive results
You are mission-driven and have a passion for working on a team that drives U.S. manufacturing competitiveness and economic security every day
Education
College student seeking a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics
Schedule:
Fifteen hours per week minimum availability during normal working hours (Monday-Friday between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm) during the school year is preferred, with full-time availability during the summer.
