JOB DEVELOPER/EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST
Job Title: Job Developer/Employment Specialist
Department: Herbert J. Hoelter Vocational Training Center
Reports To: Program Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
General Purpose of the Job: Under the general supervision of the Program Director/VTC Operation Director of the HJH Vocational Training Center (HJH/VTC), the Job Developer/Employment Specialist will be responsible for providing Workforce Development Instructional Services for VTC program participants, procuring employment, achieving the required employment percentage for program participants, developing, and maintaining employer partner relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Assists team with job readiness skill training for program participants.
- Tracks the progress of enrollees.
- Builds and maintains relationships with employers to ensure job placement opportunities for program graduates.
- Establishes new corporate partnerships.
- Explains the benefits and employment support services provided by programs to employers, including addressing employers’ special needs.
- Represents the Agency and HJH/VTC at job fairs and career days.
- Schedules job fairs for enrollees and graduates to meet employers.
- Coaches program enrollees on resume writing, proper interview attire and etiquette.
- Teaches program enrollees job retention strategies.
- Conducts networking events for employers and job seekers.
- Follow-up on job leads within 48 hours.
- Assists program enrollees and graduates in assessing their job skills.
- Prepares forms and reports related to job placement activities.
- Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Adheres to NCIA’s Core Values and Code of Conduct Policy as the Company outlines.
Secondary Duties
- Completes special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Possesses collaborative work style, combined with ability and desire to work in a team-based environment.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
