The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is a leading national and international non-profit organization fighting to end sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.


The NCOSE Law Center is a small boutique law firm imbedded within NCOSE. We litigate a variety of cases brought against online platforms that profit from and facilitate sex trafficking. Our objective is to obtain a degree of justice for our survivor clients and bring an end to the sex trafficking industry that preys on the most vulnerable among us.


We are looking to add an experienced attorney to our Law Center team.  This is a terrific opportunity for a talented lawyer who wants to change the world for the better.


WHO WE ARE – The Law Center

  1. We are currently engaged in class action litigation against the world’s largest pornography platforms representing thousands of children sex trafficked on these sites.
  2. We are engaged in litigation in federal courts against the world’s largest social media and other online platforms that monetize sex trafficking images.
  3. We represent sex trafficking survivors in litigation against the most notorious brothels, strip clubs, and government entities in the state of Nevada for sex trafficking and violations of the 13th Amendment’s ban on involuntary servitude and section 1983.
  4. We represent trafficking survivors in litigation against high profile individuals accused of sex trafficking and rape.
  5. We proudly represent survivors in a variety of cutting edge and complex litigation to firstly seek justice on behalf our survivor clients while also educating the public and working to promote societal change that will prevent future exploitation.
  6. We engage in appellate litigation in federal and state courts of appeals up to and including at the U.S. Supreme Court involving human trafficking laws, section 230 immunity, state tort law, and complex constitutional issues

Job Requirements:

The NCOSE Law Center (LC) practices in state and federal courts representing survivors of sex trafficking seeking redress against their traffickers and related facilitators.

The candidate for this position must:

  • Have experience engaged in class action litigation in federal courts
  • Have the ability to represent sex trafficking survivors in litigation
  • Represent trafficking survivors in litigation against high profile individuals accused of sex trafficking and rape.
  • Write comprehensive legal briefs
  • Create innovative theories for seeking legal redress for victims
  • Partner with colleagues and allies on class action litigation,
  • Participate in complex discovery, law and motion practice, trial practice, and challenging and complicated litigation across the United States

Qualifications

We are looking for a senior level attorney with ideally 10 years of legal experience, including civil litigation experience involving motion, discovery, and trial practice in federal and state courts; or commensurate federal or state prosecutorial experience.

The candidate must have:

  • Good communication, writing, and analytical skills are required. Must be organized, articulate, high energy, highly motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial, team player, relational, opportunistic, and not afraid of taking on giants.
  • Excellent writing skills, time management skills, must be a self-starter, capable of working under supervision and also capable of independent initiative.
  • Excellent oral presentation and public speaking skills, including podcasts, lectures, CLE presentations, and related training events.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, comfortable working with a small team of lawyers, often under the pressure of deadlines and against notably hostile opposition.
  • Humility is a required personality trait. We are looking for a candidate who is quick to give credit to others and slow to claim credit.
  • We are interested in people who have their personal egos in check and are comfortable allowing others to shine.
  • The candidate must be passionate about defending the victims of sex trafficking and who is not afraid of hard work, and long hours when necessary.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excels in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills; highly proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with various online platforms.
  • Must be an attorney in good standing and licensed in a State’s highest court.
  • Passionate and a strong commitment to the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Self-starter with high energy and careful attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of initiative and a process-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure while exhibiting good judgment and a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve goals.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts and maintain confidentiality.
  • Displays a positive attitude, shows concern for people and community, and demonstrates presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, changing work priorities and deadlines, and a willingness to take on responsibilities and to prioritize own work on multiple projects

Compensation:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications. Negotiable range of $120K-$160K annually.
