Job Title: Child Abuse Medical Provider (Part-time)
Reports To: Intervention and Clinical Director
The National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) is seeking a Child Abuse Medical Provider to join our Intervention and Clinical Team. This is a clinical opportunity for a compassionate, highly initiative, self-motivated, and self-disciplined Registered Nurse Practitioner or higher who is passionate about supporting the NCAC’s mission to champion and strengthen the global response to child abuse.
About the role:
As a member of our team in Huntsville, AL, you will provide specialized medical exams for alleged victims of child sexual and/or physical abuse or neglect. You will provide court testimony as needed and serve as an active participant in the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings with other NCAC staff and partner agencies.
A typical day may include:
- Performing specialized medical exams on alleged victims of child sexual and physical abuse and/or neglect
- Talking with the child's caregiver before and after the medical exam
- Triaging exam requests
- Making referrals for ongoing care
- Consulting with MDT partners about appropriate medical care
- Testifying in a trial
- Documenting the services provided
- Other duties as assigned

Education and experience requirements for this role include:
- Require Master’s Degree or M.S. in Nursing or higher
- Prefer a minimum of five years of experience in pediatrics
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Licensed Doctor of Nursing Practice. NCAC can help facilitate a collaborative agreement with a physician that is approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Location and Hours
This position will work approximately 25 hours per week on-site at our Huntsville, AL office. Our standard business hours are 9:00 - 5:00, Monday through Friday.
