Position : Gastroenterologist - BC / BE
A Medical Center in Abilene, TX is searching for a BC / BE Gastroenterologist to join the medical staff due to volume and service line growth. Candidates should be experienced in ERCP, and shared call coverage is available. There is a solid primary care referral base in place. Abilene is located just 2 1 / 2 hours from Dallas / Ft. Worth and offers easy access to big city amenities and a regional airport.

The Hospital is a 231-bed, full-service hospital built in 1984. A recent $26 million expansion was completed in August of 2007, including renovation and construction of outpatient receiving, 3 cath labs, 4 GI suites, fast track staging and recovery, and two additional floors adding 42 beds, a new nursery of 16-21 beds, and a NICU of 16 beds.
The community population is approximately 115,000, and the hospital has a referral base which extends 90 miles. There are 3 universities and one junior college, along with two highly-rated independent school systems. The hospital is located in the expanding area of the community with major highway access from all entry points. Abilene is also the location of Dyess Air Force Base, which has a workforce of 6000 military and civilian personnel, contributing significantly to the community. Abilene has a strong cultural reputation and is consistently one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Texas.
