The Latino Community Engagement (LCE) program was created to address the disparities prevalent within Latino communities concerning education, professional growth, personal development, financial stability, health, and more. We approach these areas by fostering meaningful and impactful relationships between the community and both local and federal organizations. This effort aims to establish valuable resources, opportunities, and enduring partnerships that work to foster effective communication within and for Latino communities.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college intern to join our Latino Community Engagement Program. This role is perfect for California Dream Act students who have Cal Grant A and meet the eligibility for Cal Grant B. The intern will assist with outreach efforts, workshop presentations, and compiling scholarship information opportunities, among other tasks.
Responsibilities :
- Outreach and Engagement : Assist in organizing and implementing outreach activities to connect with Latino students and their families. Help promote the program’s resources and opportunities.
- Workshop Presentations : Support the development and delivery of workshops on various topics related to educational resources, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
- Scholarship Information Compilation : Gather, organize, and update information on scholarship and grant opportunities available to Latino students. Create and maintain a database of relevant scholarships.
- Administrative Support : Provide general administrative assistance to the program, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and coordinating events.
- Community Interaction : Engage with students, parents, and community members to provide information and answer questions about educational resources and financial aid.
