Hazmat Shipping Handler

Job Title: Material Handler

Individuals will work with Shipping Manager and Production Supervisors to help produce, stage, and ship finished goods and other materials in a timely manner that meet quality specifications. This includes general labor activities such as lifting object (50lbs), climbing ladders, operating a forklift, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute duties as assigned by the shipping and production managers
• Ability to read bill of lading to properly prepare and stage products for shipment
• Ability to operate forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between warehouses
• Ability to load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks with hazardous materials in a safe and organized manner
• Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals during repackaging processes
• Repackaging chemical material from one container to another
• Safely offloading and loading tanker trucks using unloading hoses and pumps
• Abide by safety protocols
• Ability to meet physical demands of a fast-paced work environment.
• Standing for long periods of time
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Walking around warehouse area
• Good reading and writing skills to complete necessary paperwork for job duties
• Maintain a clean and operable work environment

Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Forklift Certified and Proficient
• Experience with bill of ladings and hazardous material shipping papers
• Be able to work well with others
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance
• Hazmat Certified Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
