What are the responsibilities and job description for the PORTFOLIO MANAGER/UNDERWRITER position at National Commercial Bank?
Assist the Team Leader and Loan Officers with commercial loan requests, including interviewing borrowers to assess credit qualifications and borrowing needs. Analyze borrowers' financial statements, collateral, and tax returns to determine repayment ability. Conduct forecast analyses, assist in underwriting credit approvals for review, support calling officers or account representatives, and coordinate activities related to the credit approval process.
Oversee the ordering of loan documentation to evidence debt and ensure the bank's security interests are perfected in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Assist senior loan officers in reviewing loan documentation before client signings.
Conduct covenant testing for trade finance and asset-based lending borrowers to ensure creditworthiness and compliance.
Perform site inspections and prepare Site Inspection Reports. Review Construction Progress Reports and provide recommendations for hard / soft loan draws, transfers, and change orders for construction and real estate loans.
Manage document requests related to the underwriting process, including TRW, appraisal reports, environmental reports, OFAC, preliminary reports, title reports, title insurance, and asset review reports.
Monitor and update monthly and weekly portfolio reporting requirements, past-due reports, and weekly pipeline reports.
Assist clients with the preparation of monthly borrowing base certificates, daily notices of borrowing, and account openings.
Maintain an existing loan portfolio, including conducting annual reviews (DCR and stress tests) and performing site inspections for commercial real estate loans.
Prepare credit memos, loan modification reports, and problem loan reports.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience : 3-5 years of directly related experience.
Skills & Abilities : Strong proficiency in PC applications, excellent credit analysis skills, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Specifications : Extensive knowledge of credit, spread analysis, finance, and lending procedures.
Training Requirements : Completion of any training courses necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
