What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exam Content Developer II position at NATIONAL COMMISSION ON CERTIFICATION OF PHYS?

As the Exam Content Developer II, you will serve as an editor of all NCCPA examinations, ensuring that exam content is developed in compliance with NCCPA and industry standards.
- Please note that, in accordance with NCCPA’s Conflict of Interest Policy, any NCCPA employee who is a PA, lives with or is in a committed relationship with, or is related to a PA is prohibited from working on exam content, participating in NCCPA exam-related meetings and will not have access to NCCPA systems that contain PA data.

Who We Are
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is the only certifying organization for physician assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1974, we are dedicated to assuring the public that board certified PAs meet established standards of clinical knowledge and cognitive skills upon entry into practice and throughout their careers. All U.S. states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories have decided to rely on NCCPA certification as one of the criteria for licensure or regulation of PAs.
Location: NCCPA is a hybrid work environment with our headquarters located in Johns Creek, Georgia. NCCPA has determined that the telecommuting status of this position is remote which means that employees in remote positions are allowed primarily work remotely with required travel for mandatory meetings, including to the NCCPA headquarters.

How Will You Make a Difference? You will…
- Ensure that all content blueprint specifications are accurately reflected in NCCPA’s approved item banking systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Psychometrics & Exam Development and the Senior Editor to develop training material and conducts orientation and training sessions for new SME’s and refresher sessions for current SMEs
- Provide editorial services for exam development committee meetings by interacting positively with SME’s and actively facilitating the process using test construction and methodology knowledge.
- Ensure that all examination materials are accurately coded for all possible codes (metdata, exam availability, state of item, ect)
- Contribute to developing the annual schedule for all NCCPA’s exam-related activities and ensure compliance in implementing the approved schedule.
Hard Skills You Will Have
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five years of experience in the medical editing field
- A minimum of three years of customer service-related work experience in a call center environment
- Excellent editing skills with emphasis on spelling, grammar, and adherence to style specifications.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications especially in Word, Outlook, Excel, databases. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a plus
- Knowledge of test development methodologies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
