TITLE: Peer Support Specialist
LOCATION: Tucson and Yuma Offices
SUMMARY: Full-time position that works closely with the Sgt. Fox interdisciplinary team with a special emphasis on preventing Veteran suicides. Will perform a variety of supportive tasks and assisting the Veteran achieve theirs service Plan Goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- You must be an Honorably Discharged Veteran.
- Minimum High School Diploma, Peer Support Specialist training certification and a minimum of 1 year experience.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to speak with individuals in an open and welcoming manner.
- Moderate writing skills.
- Training in Peer Support and certification.
- Able to maintain boundaries.
- Pass background check and finger prints.
- Strong attendance record.
- Able to perform work activities in a high pressure and time sensitive environment.
- Reliable vehicle and insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform outreach in Yuma County.
- Work with Case Managers and Veterans in achieving goals.
- Provide coaching and support for clients individually and during support groups.
- Connecting clients with resources.
- Helping clients manage appointments.
- Maintain contact with Veterans and if needed family members.
- Attend staffings.
- Perform and maintain accurate documentation.
- Other duties as requested.
SKILLS:
- Strong interpersonal communication and observation skills to communicate with Veterans.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
- Experience working with Veterans.
- Able to share life experiences that resulted in positive outcomes and wellness.
- Active listening skills to engage in conversations and lead effective group discussions.
- Time management.
- Average computer skills and records-management software.
- Develop positive image of organization.
- Able to work evenings and weekends.
- Able to carry out assignments.
- Ability to work as a team member.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.91 - $21.95 per hour
