Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud solutions integrating IT and GIS systems. The role involves extensive client interaction to capture requirements and develop comprehensive design specifications for cloud architectures using AWS or Azure.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct client requirements workshops to capture business and technical needs for integrated cloud and GIS solutions.
• Design and architect cloud solutions using AWS or Azure, ensuring optimal system performance, scalability, and security.
• Perform system sizing analysis and generate cost estimates (including ROM budgets) to support funding and ROI justification.
• Develop detailed design specifications and architectural diagrams covering hardware, software, network, storage, security, and integration components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, GIS, utility stakeholders) to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and client expectations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring through documentation, presentations, and the dissemination of best practices.
Mandatory Skills:
• 11-16 years of work experience in cloud consulting and large-scale technology projects involving AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• 6-11 years of work experience in enterprise GIS, encompassing system design and implementation.
• Thorough background in deploying and supporting Esri ArcGIS products.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, microservices).
• In-depth experience with cloud security configuration and best practices.
• Experience with enterprise GPU configuration and load balancing solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with GIS cloud monitoring tools like ArcGIS Monitor and Prometheus.
• Familiarity with cloud-based integration tools such as Kafka, Boomi, MuleSoft.
• Utility industry experience.
