National Constitution Center
Philadelphia, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/1/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/24/2025

Department: Education

REPORTS TO: Kevin Lynch, Manager of Student and Teacher Programs

FLSA STATUS: Full Time / Exempt

BACKGROUND

The National Constitution Center is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to teaching about the Constitution. Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, steps from where the Constitution was drafted and signed, it serves as America’s leading platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its congressional charter “to disseminate information about the U.S. Constitution on a nonpartisan basis in order to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.”

POSITION SUMMARY

The Student Programs Facilitator will join the Education Team to support civic learning initiatives for students nationwide. In this role, the Facilitator will contribute to the design, planning, and execution of the Center’s student programs.

The Facilitator will play a key role in supporting the Center’s direct-to-student programs, including Scholar Exchanges and Civic Stories, unique learning experiences designed to facilitate civil dialogue about the Constitution through the application of storytelling and constitutional thinking skills. Scholar Exchanges were launched in 2018, as a way to bring students together virtually to learn about and discuss the Constitution. Increased demand for this program over the past several years has created a need for more meaningful and frequent sessions. The Facilitator will moderate these programs, as well as ensure the materials are engaging for students and curriculum-aligned for teachers. Civic Stories target students in grades 3-8 and utilize museum artifacts to highlight stories from the past. The facilitator will moderate sessions, support with logistics, and offer curricular alignment for supplemental resources. The Facilitator will help research new topics, develop associated materials, and ensure the classroom resources remain engaging and relevant for diverse student audiences.

Additionally, the Facilitator may be asked to assist with the design and development of other supplemental resources that enhance student engagement with NCC resources.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background or interest in history education, program development, and working with students to positively impact civic learning.
