Data Product Owner
Information Technology
Data Product Owners are responsible for the Data Product lifecycle including ideation, development, delivery, and maintenance of data-driven products aligned with NCB’s objectives and that deliver tangible value to business users. Data Product Owners are responsible for the overall success of Data Products in their business domains. The person in this role will be a subject matter expert on the business use(s) and source(s) of data.
• Data Product Owners continuously enhance and manage their portfolio of Data Products, ensuring user adoption via demos, short trainings, and communications.
• Collaborates with business domains to understand, brainstorm, and gather Data Product requirements.
• Sources data, implements data governance requirements, including data quality and metadata requirements, works with ETL team for data integration, builds, delivers, and maintains Data Products.
• Designs, builds, and delivers Data Products in compliance with NCB’s Data Governance Policy, Software Development Lifecycle Policy, Data Classification Policy, and Information Security Policy.
Requirements Include:
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of business, computer science, decision support, data science, or comparable field of study is required.
Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience
3 or more years working in the banking or financial services industry.
3 or more years working on data warehouse, data mart, and/or comparable.
Self-motivated and self-directed individual
Demonstrated willingness to work as part of a team.
Detail oriented and able to prioritize and work efficiently on multiple work threads.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify patterns, draw conclusions from data, and translate them into actionable insights.

• Able to explain complex data concepts clearly and concisely and works collaboratively with business domains and developers to gather requirements, define priorities, and ensure alignment.
• Able to use data to inform decision-making. This includes communicating data insights to stakeholders and translating data into actionable recommendations.
• Is an active listener who builds trust by understanding the needs of business domains and delivering data products aligning with strategic objectives.
• Actively cultivates relationships with business domains and the BI Center of Excellence.
Business Acumen
• Ability to learn and understand business domain concepts as well as NCB’s goals and objectives, industry landscape, and market trends.
• Driven to obtain external data when it will enhance NCB’s data in Data Products
• Solid understanding of NCB’s data strategy and contributes to its development.
• Ability to understand business needs and recommend Data Products. Can identify the right data sources, collecting and cleaning data, and building data models.
Technical Acumen
• Able to extract insights from data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Skilled in SQL, MicroStrategy expression syntax, data visualization, user experience optimization techniques, and Excel. May have experience with R or Python.
• Solid understanding of databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, as well as data integration techniques and processes.
• Solid understanding of data management and data governance concepts and how to implement them.
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification is a plus
Experience with data governance tools including data catalogs, business glossaries, and data quality tools, is a plus
Experience constructing reports and data views using MicroStrategy or similar market-leading reporting or business intelligence tools, is a plus
