What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD CAM I Technician position at National Dentex Labs?
Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Albensi Dental Lab in Irwin, PA, for a CAD-CAM Technician I.
The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.
There are classifications, or levels, of the CAD/CAM Technician position: CAD/CAM Technician I, II, and III. These levels are assigned based on experience, skill, and knowledge-base in the fabrication process for dental products.
A CAD/CAM Technician in the CAD/CAM Department may be trained and/or assigned to regularly perform one or more of the functions listed below in the production process.
Responsibilities and Job Functions That May Be Assigned:
- Read prescriptions with specifications received from customers, including Doctors and other laboratories within and outside of the company
- Read and review all paperwork on each case for correct information prior to case production
- Enter cases in CAD software with proper case information, material, and tooth number
- Scan impressions and/or stone models to create virtual 3D models used throughout the CAD/CAM processes
- Ensure all steps are followed, in order, for consistent and accurate results
- Keep cases organized so the flow of work stays on schedule with a direct line of sight
- Design dental products/restorations that provide the patient with the proper function and aesthetics, or send to 3rd party design services
- Import IOS cases and verify scan data is correct and materials have been entered correctly
- Send implant cases to 3rd party vendor for design and/or manufacture of abutments
- Utilize milling machines as needed, and manage printers while switching print jobs out as necessary
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities That May Be Required:
- Knowledge of tooth anatomy
- Ability to follow instructions according to prescription
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must have basic computer skills
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Verifiable employment experience may be considered in lieu of education

- Computer
- Mill/Printer
Physical Abilities That May Be Required:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
