Apprentice Flooring Installer
Overview: National Carpet Outlet, Inc., National Granite Luxuries, LLP, dba/ National Design Mart's Apprentice Flooring Installer is responsible for laying floor coverings using various materials, including laminate, linoleum, carpet, wood and tile.
Responsibilities
- Remove existing flooring and discarding of this material, if applicable.
- Clear the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions.
- Prepare the work surface by applying adhesive, grouting, or other appropriate materials.
- Correct defects such as a sub-floor that is unleveled or contains rotted wood.
- Lay wood, carpeting, padding, tiles, and other types of flooring.
- Ensure that the flooring materials are well positioned, secure, and clean.
- Complete the installation by applying appropriate finishes.
- Educate clients about suitable care for their floors.
- Follow safe procedures and encourage clients to do the same, where applicable.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. Regular bending/stooping.
- Ability to work on hands and knees for up to 8 hours consistently.
- Ability to work 10 hour shifts and a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
- Valid Driver’s License, and reliable transportation.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Thorough and efficient. Capable of independent and group work.
