NY Enrichment Group is seeking reliable, self-motivated, and passionate African Dance Instructors to lead engaging and culturally enriching dance classes for seniors. The successful candidates will foster movement, creativity, and well-being in older adults while promoting joy, physical activity, and cultural appreciation.
The instructor must be enthusiastic, professional, and committed to the communities we serve. They should be able to motivate, educate, and inspire seniors through dance while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

Job Description

The successful candidates will foster movement, creativity, and well-being in older adults while promoting joy, physical activity, and cultural appreciation.
The instructor must be enthusiastic, professional, and committed to the communities we serve. They should be able to motivate, educate, and inspire seniors through dance while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead African dance classes for senior participants, incorporating traditional movement and music.
- Facilitate sessions that support physical health, mental well-being, and social engagement.
- Adapt choreography and activities to accommodate varied mobility levels and abilities.
- Foster a fun, positive, and inclusive atmosphere where all participants feel encouraged.
- Arrive 15 minutes early to set up and prepare for class.
- Ensure that the space is left in a clean and organized condition after class.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with program staff and senior participants.
- Communicate with the NYEG Director of Operations regarding class updates and feedback.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all seniors.
- Passion for dance and movement with an ability to adapt instruction for seniors.
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable leading a class of older adults and creating an engaging learning experience.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Experience in African dance, cultural movement, or other dance styles.
- Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and age-appropriate dance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in dance, performing arts, or a related field.
- Experience working with seniors in community centers, wellness programs, or similar settings.
- Teaching experience and group class management skills.
- Friday:
- March 14
- Time: 11am-12pm
