The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, seeks a paid intern to join its Federal Government Relations team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Federal Government Relations team with various tasks.
- Attend Capitol Hill meetings with team members.
- Research small business policy issues and draft documents to support our advocacy efforts.
- Attend and write memos on Congressional Hearings.
- Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.
- Other issues assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations or a related subject.
- 0-1 years of work experience.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week in a hybrid work structure, requiring time in the office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
- Interest in policy, political issues, and U.S. Federal government.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
