What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Material Handler position at National Fire & Safety?
Job Summary:
The receiving/material handler will prepare orders for shipment, complete all paperwork, and ensure accuracy of the order to ship. As well as receive shipments, checking for accuracy of shipment and then placing shipment where necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Maintains a clean and neat area.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries.
- Engage with vendors and technicians with a positive attitude.
- Stages material for jobs.
- Maintains inventory listing.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Sorting incoming and outgoing items.
- Receiving and placing items in designated areas.
- Pulling, packing, and loading.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of organization and urgency.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience:
- Forklift certification within the first 90 days.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Environment Job Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Located in a warehouse facility environment
- Job is performed at various job sites (indoor/outdoor) exposed to the elements.
- Minimal travel may be required; less than 10%.
- This role will require you to report to the office and there will not be the opportunity to work remotely.
