Job Overview
We are an agricultural company seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. This role is essential in supporting various HR functions including: workers compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with employment labor laws. More experience is great but above all we want someone who can communicate effectively and empathetically with employees, supervisors, and managers. In order to best serve our employees we need someone available 100% in office in Everett, Washington Monday through 8 hours a day. There is a bit of overtime anticipated a few weeks a year for benefits enrollments, site visits, and vacation coverage but this position is eligible for overtime pay. This is a junior role so at least one year of human resources experience is required. No cover letter is necessary but they are welcome.
Duties
- Maintain employee records and ensure data entry is accurate and up-to-date in ADP
- Support the administration of workers' compensation claims and assist employees with related inquiries.
- Help manage FMLA requests and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Stay informed about employment labor laws to ensure compliance within the organization.
- Collaborate with team members to improve HR processes and enhance employee experience.
Need to have:
- one to two years of human resources experience
- bilingual English and Spanish
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficient in data entry with high attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- organizational skills with the ability to anticipate deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
Nice to have (but we can train!):
- associates or higher in human resources or a related field
- additional language proficiency beyond English and Spanish
- more than two years of experience in human resources
- experience in project management, timecards, or payroll
- PHR or SHRM certification
- additional expertise in Excel such as pivot tables and x-lookups
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation procedures and FMLA regulations.
- Proficient in data entry with high attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Experience with ADP
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills in the HR domain
