Payroll Supervisor - Buffalo, NY

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervisory oversight of 3 staff members in the Payroll department

• Administration, support, and reporting within corporate payroll system for approximately 2,000 employees

• Processing and completion of 2 hourly payrolls per week, 2 semi-monthly payrolls per month and 1 special allowance payroll per month

• Staying up to date on federal, state, and local payroll and tax laws as well as the Company’s collective bargaining agreements for multiple union groups and maintaining union contract matrixes to reflect any updates/contract changes

• Oversight of payroll transactions such as direct deposit file transfers, weekly payment of all payroll taxes, and ensuring timely submission of payroll wires and check requests

• Communication with employees, IT personnel, supervisors, and management to discuss payroll issues and questions

• Collaboration with Human Resources to administer and track employees on leave due to disability, worker’s comp, Paid Family Leave, FMLA, Military or any leave of absence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, communication skills, analytical and organizational skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and perform successfully in a deadline driven environment

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and diffuse challenging employee situations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree/Accounting concentration

• Timekeeper and/or payroll processing experience

• Working experience with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll for North America or experience with similar systems

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The base salary range for this position is $60,500 – $93,000.

The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
