What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commission Analyst position at National General Insurance?
Job Summary:
To provide Accounting assistance within the Commission Department for EOM Commission functions.
Completing EOM reports for Finance and internal customers.
Reply appropriately to Agency calls and emails timely.
Work within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Basic Accounting functions.
- EOM Commission reporting to Finance.
- Advanced Excel Experience, Outlook, and basic Word.
- Balance EOM Commission for Agency pay.
- Complete Journal entries.
- Provide appropriate phone and email etiquette conversation to Agency questions timely. Excellent communication skills.
- Research issues for Agents using the Workflow Manager System within NPS system
- Request checks, Review statements, verifying information ensuring accurate funds have been allocated.
- Performs additional duties as requested
- Work within a team environment, assisting when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Accounting degree or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of Insurance commission accounting or equivalent experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- None
Functional Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Basic knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Basic knowledge of related accounting principles and transactions based on assigned responsibilities
- Performs well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
- Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates initiative and desire to grow within the department
