GRANITE WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST
Overview:
A Warehouse Specialist at National Design Mart is responsible for providing professional customer service to all customers and installers by loading, picking materials, and assisting with maintenance of equipment and maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse. This is accomplished by assisting customers with items they have purchased along with loading installers and gathering materials to be delivered. Inventory control, product knowledge, and organization skills are all components of this position. A strong belief in the company’s vision and the ability to execute its core values is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Warehouse Activities (60%)
- Greets and assists customers and installers; loads product into vehicles; prepares loads to be delivered; stocks merchandise; develops relationships; provides customer service.
- Inventory Management (30%)
- Verifies quantity received and receives product in the system, maintains warehouse; assists with stacking and staging material; works to resolve overages and shortages. Create and tag RA numbers on material being returned from the job and/or being shipped back to vendor
- Knowledge & Training (10%)
- Identifies personal growth needs and improvement opportunities; seeks to obtain product information; learns about National Design Mart products and services; suggests processes to improve operational efficiencies; communicates with others.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service environment
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Familiarity with flooring materials and cabinets is helpful
- Ability to participate effectively as a team member
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure
- Regular attendance required and an ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (40 hrs – non- exempt)
- Construction acumen
- Procedures Followed: Safety; dress code; paperwork process; inventory; stocking; merchandising; special order; delivery; loading; store tools; material receiving; opening/closing; theft control.
Physical Aspects
- Standing and/or walking for up to 4 hours consistently across a variety of surfaces.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly and without assistance; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Regular stooping and bending at the waist to load/unload material.
- Occasional kneeling and crawling to assist with product retrieval or loading.
- Pushing and pulling items of various weights and sizes multiple times daily.
- Ability to work in different weather conditions year-round.
Equipment Used
- Know how to operate a fork lift, delivery truck, pallet jack, and other equipment used to move or transfer material.
- Knows the functions of and uses a variety of building industry related tools.
- Performs numerical computations using an adding machine and/or calculator.
