SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for managing pre-construction services for projects starting in the early development phase through the start of construction. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure that all pre-construction projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the National Grid Renewables’ established policies and objectives while incorporating all functions related to safety, testing, repair, and maintenance of all equipment used within the owned assets.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Managing engineering projects end-to-end
- Oversee review of the preliminary engineering designs for renewable projects.
- Communicate regularly with all personnel to ensure satisfaction of internal / external customer requirements.
- Participate in or lead business unit improvement initiatives.
- Manage internal and external engineering resources in the early development of renewable power plant designs
- Coordinate engineering with in-house energy production modeling
- Complete estimate project costs, including quantity take-offs and create database for cost tracking and support of ROM pricing activities
- Develop proposal documents and provide support to internal teams for customer RFP (request for proposal) responses and EPC RFP activities
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and engineering during all phases of the bidding, analysis, and estimating processes
- Support construction phase project teams through pre-construction activities
- Support construction teams in resolving design and or constructability challenges during construction
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
- Contribute to development and maintenance of design standards and criteria for project infrastructure.
- Oversee quality aspects of engineering and construction, including ensuring compliance with design standards and accuracy of final documentation and test data.
- Manage and provide oversight of external professionals who provide technical expertise and project support through design, construction, and operations.
- Provide technical support to plant operations as may be required for project infrastructure, facilities, and systems.
- Understanding of EPC contracts and negotiation process through award
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
Pay Range for the posted level : $110,000.00 – 170,000.00
