Job Purpose
Nationalgrid is seeking highly skilled Oil Burner Service Technicians to join our team. Position requires at least 5 years experience as Service and install Tech on burner/boiler equipment and associated systems in commercial establishments, multi-family, schools, hospitals etc. Shifts include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and paid overtime. Maintenance and repairs on multi-family and commercial boilers. We offer top salaries and a comprehensive benefits package also union membership.
Pay rate is $43.60
Key Accountabilities
Experience servicing and maintaining Gas & Oil Burners, Atmospheric Boilers and Condensing Boilers
- Scotch Marine Fire Tube Boilers
- Perform efficiency tests on all combustion related installations
- Basic pump repair knowledge and skills, including but not limited to circulating pumps and oil pumps.
- Troubleshoot Combustion Failures
- Prepare accurate daily paperwork.
- General knowledge of domestic water systems including but not limited to instantaneous hot water heaters, tank water heaters, booster pumps systems, and domestic mixing valves, electrical and pneumatic.
- Communicate with dispatcher and service departments.
- Utilize all applicable safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Exhibit courteous and helpful behavior towards customer and third parties.
- Effectively communicate orally, in writing and electronically.
- Basic knowledge of building codes rules and regulations as well as the ability to understand corporate policy and procedure as related to the position.
- Consistent work hours year-round with Guaranteed OT for nights and weekends
- Local 638 union with pension and Blue Cross / Blue Shield medical
Qualifications
- OSHA 30
- Clean, Valid State Driver’s License
- A minimum of 5 plus years’ experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate strong technical skills as well as proven customer service skills.
