Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About The Position

As an Associate Supervisor, you will manage a workforce and have direct interactions with both our residential and commercial/industrial customers. You will be responsible for the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of the electric distribution system by daily supervision and organization of operations personnel. You will begin with a 12-month rotation through the various functions of the Electric Operations group (Overhead Line, Underground Line, Substations, Protection) which will provide you with a strong foundation to develop your skills and capabilities as a leader!

This is an on-site role based in Liverpool, NY with travel required to our different work sites within the Central New York area. With the travel associated with this position, you will be provided a company vehicle.

What You’ll Do

In this role you will:

  • Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Oversee the operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
  • Ensure supervised teams comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
  • Execute all work tasks in compliance with all Company, Federal and State policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide support and ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreement.
  • Promote and implement best practices to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low costs.


What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range

Liverpool, NY $72,250 - $93,500 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
