Job Purpose
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a team of data quality business analysts, data analysts, and technical data custodians
- Set data quality strategy and roadmap in line with Customer Business Strategy and Data Roadmap
- Define and own the data quality business case and ensure benefits are realized
- Manage Customer’s business portfolio of data quality improvement initiatives and ensure that best practices, rules, and standards are applied
- Create and manage data quality sub-policies, business rules that align to the overall Data Business Management System (BMS) and Quality standards for key data elements
- Drive improvement to data quality through process and system improvements; communicate top priority data quality opportunities and improvement proposals to stakeholders and senior management
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the department's data quality dashboards, including the oversight, analytics, and reporting
- Make data fit for purpose based on data consumer requirements by defining requirements, rules, standards, and specifications for data quality controls as part of the data lifecycle
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents; provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Manage and assess data quality activities (capture /acquire, process, cleanse, update, store, and dispose of) that are part of Customer’s business deployments
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Implement departmental processes to measure, monitor and report on data quality levels and to discover areas for improvement
- Identify risks and opportunities in projects and provide recommendations on how best to mitigate or achieve each
- Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other Business and/or IT (Information Technology) areas
- Plan and present program-level communications for executives and stakeholders
- Plan and manage data quality staffing strategy consistent with the needs of the business to complement internal capabilities, e.g. data product development and analytics enablement.
- Coach team members and other department project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with data quality standards and established methodologies and practices
- Define performance objectives and development plans for team members, ensuring alignment with department objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline
- Extensive experience of implementing data quality programs within large organizations
- Technically literate with an understanding of database and schema design
- Knowledge of the energy, utility industry with jurisdictional data regulations
- Proficient in the use of SQL, MDM, Snowflake
- Proficient in the use of Informatica Suite: EDC (Enterprise Data Catalog), CDQ (Cloud Data Quality), and Axon
- Experience managing people and projects related to data quality and implementing process improvements for a large organization
- Strong analysis, analytical, problem-solving and interpretation of data skills·
