Job Purpose
As the Platform Owner responsible for Test Data Engineering Management, Test Data Virtualization, Test Automation, Performance Test Automation, and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tooling, your role is pivotal in achieving our vision of being recognized as a world-leading Information Technology and Digital function in the energy sector. You will serve as a trusted partner across National Grid businesses.
In this position, you will lead the development and implementation of technology strategies and architectures specific to your platform area. You will establish policies and guidelines related to the platform, manage stakeholder relationships, roadmaps, usage and be the owner of the entire financial picture for your platform. you will drive growth and success, ensuring that our organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements within your platform. Your expertise in CI/CD will enhance our development processes, enabling faster delivery of high-quality software and improving overall operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Co-create and maintain service's mission, roadmap and backlog for four mission critical platforms
- Zoom down into code level to promote the platform along with team members using the platform to help educate efficient use of the platform tools
- Manage and oversee the complete budget for your platform including vendor, support and resource costs
- Prioritize roadmap and define high level backlog of initiatives by providing input when needed during the workshops for Team Backlog grooming based on business value and risks
- Convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint and ensure the Team remains aligned to these
- Ensure that Platform/Team solutions are continuously integrated, deployed, and released on demand, aligning outcomes and progress with other Platform Leads and Owners
- Create and deliver traceable and auditable customer success metrics for the platform
- Provide upward transparency on Platform backlog and value delivered
- Continuously engage with customers to collect feedback and identify new needs, escalating any major issues that may arise
- Participate in Community of Practice (CoP) to share best practices and standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the platform's success
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Systems development management: Sets policy and drives adherence to standards for systems development, including security and privacy. Identifies and manages the resources necessary for all stages of system development projects. Ensures that technical, financial and quality targets are met.
- Stakeholder relationship management: Leads the development of comprehensive stakeholder management strategies and plans. Builds long-term strategic relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external) and acts as their single point of contact. Leads actions to improve relations and open communications with and between stakeholders.
- People Management: Creates and sets the direction for multiple workgroups to achieve strategic organisational objectives. Sets strategy for quality and performance measurement in line with organisational goals.
- Provides a work environment and resources that allow individuals and workgroups to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Leads the implementation of formal organisational processes such as recruitment, reward, promotion and disciplinary procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Or a BS/BA degree or higher in a technical discipline in the US, or the UK equivalent.
- 7-10 or more years of relevant experience.
- 5 or more years of people management experience with relevant industry and professional certifications.
- Direct hands on experience as a test automation and CI/ CD platforms with some level of coding experience in development tools, test automation tools.
- Experience in strategic technology leadership, IT infrastructure, analytics, and outsourcing management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including articulating complex ideas and influencing in a matrix environment.
- Strong ability to guide IT financials and lead a diverse team with inclusive culture across geographical boundaries.
- Experience with configuration and deployment of test Test Data Engineering Management, Test Data Virtualization, Test Automation, Performance Test Automation Platforms on cloud environments Azure or Amazon
- Experience with test management tools such as HP ALM/Quality Center, JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr for managing test cases, test execution, and defect tracking.
- Proficiency and hands on experience in test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Cucumber, or Robot Framework for automating test cases and regression testing.
- Experience with test data management tools such as Delphix, Informatica, or IBM Optim for managing test data, data masking, and data virtualization.
- Experience configuring with CI/CD and source control tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI/CD for integrating testing into the development pipeline and enabling continuous testing and delivery.
- Proficiency in virtualization tools such as Docker or VMware for creating and managing virtual test environments, enabling efficient and scalable testing.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured for testing RESTful and SOAP web services, API endpoints, and backend integrations.
- Experience with test environment management tools such as Test Environment Management (TEM) or Enov8 for managing test environments, test data, and test infrastructure.

New England: $179,000 - $211,000 a year
Downstate, NY: $192,000- $226,000 a year

Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
