Job Purpose
To be responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned field staff to effectively, efficiently and safely accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- The primary responsibility is training of new welders from entry level through complete qualifications according to company policy and union contracts.
- Provide continued training to all current company welders in all aspects of welding and weld preparation. Ensure that all welding policies and procedures are being followed by both National Grid and contractor welders. Communicate any updates and changes to welding related policies and procedures.
- Work with Learning and Development to qualify National Grid and contractor welders. Responsible for ensuring compliance of 6-month requalification's and annual spot checks.
- Represent NE on the US enterprise-wide welding committee and communicate any and all updates or changes. Supervisory / Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SMAW(Carbon), GMAW (Carbon) and GTAW(Carbon, Stainless and Aluminum) processes. Ability to qualify in each process and maintain qualifications.
- Knowledge of welding on in-service gas pipelines

Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
