What You'll Do
Our New England Gas Planning & Design Engineering team is responsible for preparing preliminary work packages that include detailed descriptions of proposed work, historical asset data (such as GIS information, scanned records, and sketches), customer data, and relevant templates. These packages are then routed to engineering teams for the development of design drawings, specifications, and other necessary details. The team also tracks and reports on the progress of capital work projects from inception to closeout, with a focus on gas system engineering and design. Additionally, they oversee the tracking and monitoring of engineering charges and costs, as well as the processing of purchase orders (PO) and invoices generated throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Gridtern, you will ensure the timely and efficient management of capital and operational expense work through the engineering and design workflow process, from project inception to closeout, including in part, work package preparation, design pre-work, work package issuance, work modification and work process closeout. In addition, you will support and help assist in coordinating the Engineering permitting process.
You will be in Waltham, MA working in a Hybrid structure for the summer. You must be located within a commutable distance to the identified work location for the summer.

Salary Range
$18.00 - $23.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)
Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.
Must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. As a Gridtern, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.

What You'll Need
- Availability to start on program start date, May 27, 2025, and work full-time (40 hours a week) throughout your duration of the summer
- Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2025 Semester
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management or related majors
- Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)
