The Planning and Work Order Coordinator plays a crucial part in Custom Tanks production process.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize materials and production planning processes
- Ensure timely availability of materials, efficient production scheduling, and accurate work order management within the ERP system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, minimize inventory costs, and align operations with overall business goals
Adjust Production Schedules
Maintain current priorities, holidays, environmental constraints, or unexpected disruptions by adjusting production schedules as needed
Monitor Key Performance Indicators
Assess and improve scheduling effectiveness by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery rates and inventory accuracy
Utilize MRP Tools
Generate and analyze production plans and material requirements using MRP tools like Oracle and Omega
Update Data in ERP System
Maintain and update data in the ERP system, including lead times, ensuring accuracy and reliability
Analyze Data and Generate Reports
Identify trends and opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and generating detailed reports using tools like Power BI or Excel
Coordinate with Engineering and Production Teams
Schedule and expedite custom parts by coordinating with engineering and production teams
Establish Shipping Dates
Communicate shipping dates for customer orders and ensure timely delivery
Implement Process Improvements
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in materials and production planning
Comply with Industry Standards and Regulations
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 9001 or OSHA guidelines
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in production planning, materials management, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Oracle, Omega, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address planning and scheduling challenges
- Experience with additional tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SQL for reporting and analytics is preferred
Fabrication Environment
Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in a factory environment
Less than 10% travel required
Proficient with Microsoft 365
BASIC math and writing skills
Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations
Strong data analysis skills
