White Oak Kings Mountain is seeking a kind and compassionate CNA II to provide care for our residents on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. This is a full-time position that includes an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and life insurances as well as PTO and 401K.
We are a 154-bed skilled long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facility located at 716 Sipes Street in Kings Mountain, NC
It is the policy of this facility that the NAII may perform the following routine, predictable tasks as delegated and under the direction of the licensed nurse as allowed by the North Carolina State Board of Nursing.
Oxygen Therapy:
- Sets up oxygen equipment
- Monitor oxygen flow rate set by licensed nurse
- Change O2 tubing and humidifier weekly
- Clean/Change O2 filters daily
Elimination Procedures:
- Administer Fleets or Soapsuds enema solutions (solutions that do not have systemic effect).
- Ostomy Care (colostomy and ileostomy)
- Irrigation (includes collection of urine or stool specimen)
Sterile Dressing Change (Wounds over 48 Hours Old):
- Clean dressing change
- Apply topical creams/ointments (that have no systemic effects)
Sterile Technique:
- Creates and maintains a sterile field while performing catheterizations and dressing changes.
Finger Stick Capillary Blood Glucose Testing
Urinary Catheters:
- Catheterization (for residual, collection of urine specimen, or insertion of indwelling urethral catheter)
(Note: Does not include Suprapubic catheters)
- Irrigation of tubing (urethral catheter only)
- Catheter care of Urethral or Suprapubic catheter
Nutrition Activities:
- Assembling and flushing tubing during set up for Gastrostomy or Nasogastric feedings.
- Adding enternal feeding to an existing infusion after placement verification by a licensed nurse.
- Clamping feeding tubes (includes temporary stopping of feeding for shower, etc.)
- Removing oral/nasogastric feeding tubes.
Suctioning:
- Oropharyngeal
- Nasopharyngeal
(Includes: Emptying and cleaning of reusable suction canister, changing of disposable suction canister or lining and tubing, labeling, dating and changing of suction catheter).
IV Fluid Assistive Activities:
- Assemble / flush tubing during setup
- Monitor flow rate
- Site care / dressing change
- Discontinue peripheral intravenous infusions
Tracheostomy Care:
(For established tracheostomy)
Documentation:
May document task performed on the resident treatment, etc. as indicated after review with/as assigned by the nurse.
