Position: Patient Account Rep
NHC Corporate Office is looking for a Patient Account Rep for our Behavioral Health Division. The Patient Account Representative – Behavioral Health is responsible for submitting claims for inpatient, outpatient and provider behavioral health claims as well as follow up, adjustment and cash posting activities within the NHC Behavioral Health Division.

Position: Patient Account Rep
NHC Corporate Office is looking for a Patient Account Rep for our Behavioral Health Division. The Patient Account Representative – Behavioral Health is responsible for submitting claims for inpatient, outpatient and provider behavioral health claims as well as follow up, adjustment and cash posting activities within the NHC Behavioral Health Division.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; prefer some college or technical school coursework.
- 2 years of healthcare billing/AR experience, preferred.
- Healthcare payor claims follow-up or accounts receivable experience.
- Healthcare background with payor appeals experience.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Bills claims to payors using billing software, ensuring all claims go out clean.
- Calls and provides status of outstanding claims with third-party payors.
- Reviews claim issues, makes corrections as needed and rebills. Utilizes claim clearinghouse, EMRs and payor portals to review and correct claims and to resubmit electronically when available.
- Utilizes claims clearinghouse to review and correct claims. Re-submits electronically when available.
- Reviews the explanation of benefits to ascertain that claims are processed and paid correctly.
