What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at National Institute for People with Disabilities of New Jersey?
Founded in 1998, the National Institute for People with Disabilities of New Jersey (NIPD/NJ), a member of YAI Network, provides a variety of services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. With an emphasis on creating opportunities for people we support to live as independently as possible, NIPD/NJ offers supervised, supportive, and independent residential programs in New Jersey. By providing in-home respite, information and referral, camping and recreation, after-school, socialization, and vocational programs, NIPD/NJ also supports children and adults with disabilities who reside at home with their families. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Group Facilitator for our Social Skills Building Network. This prevocational program is designed to build social skills, enhance employability and explore educational options for people with disabilities. Through a structured group format utilizing a variety of techniques, participants will be able to develop appropriate social and behavioral skills to become employment ready, make meaningful social connections, and participate more in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with running group sessions
- Some regular family contact
- Administrative tasks
- Conduct ISP reviews, complete case notes and other documentation
- Help with intakes for potential new participants
- Assist with public outreach and transition fairs
Requirements:
- BS in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field required
- Master's in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Prior experience providing group/individual counseling and/or vocational services to individuals with I/DD
- Strong written/verbal skills
- Driver's license required
- New Jersey State drug test screening is mandatory

- Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
