Position Purpose:
The Special Agent – Program Coordinator (SA-PCOR) maintains the same duties as a Special Agent, while also providing primary coordination of their assigned program (Passenger Vehicle & Other Vehicle, Medical Provider, Property, and Casualty Claimant, or Non-vehicle Property (Cargo) & GIC/Catastrophe Response) within their region. The Special Agent position serves as the primary NICB contact with member companies and law enforcement agencies providing advice on preventing and combating insurance related crime and fraud in their designated geographical areas. They are responsible for initiating and conducting investigations which result in the dismantlement of organized groups/rings, arrests of those involved, loss mitigations, restitution, and reduction of insurance fraud. The position functions as the investigative arm of the NICB, working in cooperation with member companies, law enforcement and other associated agencies to combat insurance related crime.

Competencies/Duties:
Special Agent
- Conduct timely and thorough, multi-claim, multi-carrier investigations.
- In direct partnership with analysts, collects, analyzes, and calculates relevant data for use in investigations.
- Properly document all phases of investigative activity.
- Prepare summary investigative presentations for submission to law enforcement/prosecutor.
- Represent NICB in criminal court as requested, often testifying as an expert witness.
- Serve as liaison with member insurance companies, law enforcement and government agencies to promote and provide the full range of NICB services.
- Provide comprehensive training to member insurance companies and L/E on related insurance crime matters.
- Maintain membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Identify potential new membership opportunities and work with Partner Engagement and Member Services to support the pitching process.
- Establish and maintain business relationships with member companies, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Program Coordinator
- Serve as the primary point of contact within region for their assigned program (Passenger Vehicle & Other Vehicle, Medical Provider & Casualty Claimant, or Non-vehicle Property & GIC/Catastrophe Response).
- Coordinate with investigative, intelligence, and administrative colleagues within their region to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the assigned programs current state and forecast needs/changes.
- Closely coordinate with Special Agent - Program Coordinators in other regions to share best practices, trends, and investigative or intelligence techniques.
- Closely coordinate with headquarters-based Program Management functions to contribute to the overall national-level assessment of the assigned programs current state and forecasted needs/changes.
- Lead or assist with nationwide projects related to the assigned program.
- Support the training and mentorship of all agents assigned to or working on the program.
Position Requirements/Abilities:
- Recognized functional expert in program of assignment
- Mastery of the roles and responsibilities of a Special Agent
- Superior analytical skills and understanding of program management techniques and methods
- Strong interpersonal abilities, coalition building acumen, and ability to resolve conflict efficiently
- Independent strategic thinking rooted in initiative

Education, Work Experience, Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree or 7-10 years of equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of related investigative experience required
- Minimum of four years of service with NICB preferred
- Valid Driver’s license with the ability to drive required
- Insurance industry or law enforcement experience preferred
