WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Senior Professional Membership Manager is responsible for managing the annual timeline and projects of the Executive Committees of the National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) four Professional Councils : Council of Nephrology Nurses and Technicians (CNNT), Council on Renal Nutrition (CRN), Council of Nephrology Social Workers (CNSW), and Council of Advanced Practice Providers (CAPP). In addition to supporting these professional volunteer groups, this role is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives aimed at increasing the recruitment and retention of members, as well as evaluating the overall experience of NKF Professional Membership.

You will be confident serving as a liaison between the NKF and the four Professional Councils and have a focus on building strong collaborative relationships with professional volunteers.   • Serve as the primary liaison to NKF’s four Professional Councils (CNNT, CNSW, CRN and CAPP). Manages daily activities and longitudinal projects that support the mission and goal of these groups
  • Professional membership data and industry standards / best practices to set strategic goals related to membership growth and retention
  • Manage content in the NKF Member Hub, which houses member announcements, dashboards, patient and professional resources, and other member benefits
  • Manages the online publication and editorial processes of the Journal of Nephrology Social Work
  • Collaborates with the Professional Councils and the Web Services and Marketing teams on the publication of Membership Today (monthly e-newsletter) and Renalink (three-times-a-year e-newsletter) including content planning, editing, writing, providing guidance to Council editors and staffing editors' meetings
  • Collaborates to maintain content for professional membership web pages and manages online form submissions for annual processes such as elections, awards, Local Chapter affiliations, and applications for educational stipends
  • Plan and implement professional membership and Executive Council activities for the annual NKF Spring Clinical Meetings, including membership promotion opportunities, joint and individual council meetings, sub-committee meetings, and the Awards and Networking Reception
  • Maintain relationships and accountability with Local Chapters of the Executive Councils and promote collaboration between the Chapters, NKF Division / Affiliate staff and NKF National HQ staff
  • Collaborate to develop innovative marketing and communications strategies, plans and campaigns to promote NKF’s value proposition to existing and prospective members
  • Provide education and resources to NKF staff and stakeholders to promote NKF Professional Membership
  • Develop reports that provide statistical information on NKF Professional Membership, as well as reports to update on progress of meeting recruitment and retention goals
  • Performs additional duties as required
  • WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Previous progressive work-related experience within a membership organization
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and as a team member
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with emphasis on professional volunteer management
  • Ability to interact engagingly and effectively with all levels of staff and healthcare professionals
  • Proven exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Excellent verbal, management, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and manage timelines effectively
  • Excellent decision-making ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous work-related experience in healthcare is preferred
  • Flexible for overnight business travel including weekends and weekdays

    WORKING CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT USED AND SPECIAL INFORMATION

    Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness and possess a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintains effectiveness under pressure. Uses a multiple line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license and own insured vehicle or daily access to a vehicle. Flexible for overnight business travel. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
